This Privacy Policy explains what information Obzerv (“we”, “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to obzerv.xyz and the Obzerv service.
1. Information we collect
Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address, name (if provided), and authentication credentials (hashed passwords or OAuth identifiers from your sign-in provider).
Customer data. Monitor configurations, URLs you choose to monitor, notification preferences, and similar data you submit to the Service.
Usage data. Logs of your interactions with the Service, including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. Used for security, debugging, abuse prevention, and product analytics.
Billing information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor collects payment details directly. We receive limited information such as billing email, plan, and last four digits of the card.
Communications. Messages you send us through email, in-product feedback, or support channels.
2. How we use information
- to provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
- to authenticate you and secure your account;
- to process payments and manage subscriptions;
- to send transactional emails (account, billing, alerts);
- to monitor for fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
- to comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use Customer Data to train machine-learning models.
3. Legal bases (EEA / UK)
Where GDPR applies, we process personal data on the bases of contract performance (to deliver the Service you requested), our legitimate interests (security, product improvement, analytics), legal obligation (tax, accounting), and consent where required (e.g., optional analytics).
4. Sub-processors
We use a small number of trusted vendors to operate the Service. Each acts on our instructions under a data-processing agreement compliant with applicable law:
- Stripe, Inc. — payment processing and subscription billing (US, EU; transfers governed by Stripe's standard data-processing addendum and standard contractual clauses).
- Resend, Inc. — delivery of transactional emails (US).
- Hetzner Online GmbH — hosting, storage, and network infrastructure for the Service (Germany).
- Google LLC — Sign-in with Google (only if you choose this method) and aggregate website analytics.
We will provide reasonable advance notice of any new sub-processor on request to privacy@obzerv.xyz.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies that are strictly necessary for authentication and session management. Google Analytics helps us understand aggregate website usage. You can manage or clear cookies in your browser; clearing authentication cookies will sign you out.
6. Data retention
We keep account and Customer Data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, tax, and operational requirements. Logs and usage telemetry are retained for a shorter period (typically 30–90 days). You can request deletion of your account at any time.
7. Security
We protect your data with measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encryption in transit, encrypted password storage, least-privilege access controls, and routine vendor reviews. No method is 100% secure; we work to improve continuously.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing or withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, email privacy@obzerv.xyz. We will respond within the time required by applicable law (typically 30 days). If you believe we have not addressed your concern, you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
9. International transfers
We may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses to protect transfers.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If changes are material, we will notify you by email or in-product notice. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the effective version.
